Well, it’s been a while since we updated the World Tour Gallery due to Tuxedo Stan’s health issues. During that time the Ambavatars have been busy touring the country and spreading Tuxedo Stan’s message of hope and compassion.

Here are some updates from across Canada traveling from west to east:

British Columbia

Tuxedo Melanie says “Well, I finally got up enough nerve to tackle the mountains in Prince George. Boy, was it ever fun! I had a blast – only fell a couple of million times. Hey anyone up for snow boarding?”

YEE HA!

Alberta

Tuxedo Albert has been having quite the adventure…

Diana Piggott says “We love Tuxedo Albert!  He is so bright-eyed and good-natured, he never scratches anything and is always ready for adventure.  Even better, he never pukes on our bed or pees on the sofa!!  The other cats in the house have accepted him now, and stopped trying to eat him.”

After celebrating Christmas and New Year’s, with a very chilly backcountry adventure in between, Tuxedo Albert was eager to get to work and do some good deeds.  It was high time to start spreading Tuxedo Stanley’s message of love, hope and compassion for the less fortunate felines.  To this end, we visited the MEOW Foundation, a local no-kill organisation with a number of excellent programs for unwanted and feral cats.  They run a foster/adoption program, low-cost spay/neuter and trap-neuter-release programs.  Albert and I toured their facility, and met dozens of sweet, lovely cats who were being very well cared for.  At the end of the tour, we presented them with a cheque, donated in honour of Tuxedo Stanley.  Kato was pleased to accept it on behalf of the foundation.  Tuxedo Albert could not understand how so many sweet cats could be unwanted……

[Many thanks to Diana from Tuxedo Stan, Hugh and Kathy and the rest of the Tuxedo Party – we are truly overwhelmed by your generosity!]

Primary mission accomplished, we headed out to the mountains for some more adventures.  Heading west from Banff, Albert was very interested to see the big overpasses built by Parks Canada for his big wild cousins to cross the highway.  Although many use the overpasses, some still take their chances with tragic consequences.

Near Kicking Horse Pass, we watched a train grinding its way up (nearly there!),

then we descended into Yoho Park and skied down the scenic Kicking Horse River.

In spite of the bitter cold, Albert stayed nice and toasty-warm inside my down jacket!

Other sights we took in included the Banff Springs Hotel from across the Bow River (slightly upstream),

and the lovely view from the not-so-lovely-named Mud Lake near Lake Louise.  It doesn’t look very muddy today!

We have not yet managed to get Albert his own skis……

I LOVE Stan! Thoroughly enjoy ALL of his postings! I am just wondering if the above “Ambavatours” should be “Ambassatours”? I may be mistaken… 🙂
