No doubt many of you have seen the lovely photo of Tuxedo Stan posing with his fridge magnet in our online store:
You probably thought, “I wonder how they got him to pose for that picture?
Well, here’s how you do it:
First, you prop the magnet up with a brick.
Then you sprinkle catnip on the brick and prepare for a lovely photo.
You realize the picture has distracting elements.
You get a whiteboard to hide the background.
In the meantime, a spectator moves in to steal the catnip.
You chase the rogue away and replace him with the star…
who enjoys more catnip.
Which eventually leads to complete loss of inhibition,
resulting in destruction of the set
and an embarrassing sequence of photos:
In typical cat fashion this is followed by
an attempt to regain some dignity…
Washing private parts!
Luckily, the magnet blocks the view.

Finally, luck prevails and the day is saved.

Nip. Hmmm…. that could work. I’m gonna mention the usage of the nip to my peep. You should see her tryin’ to get pictures of me. She wanted me to pose in among the fallen leaves, just yesterday. She got the back of my head, the back of my back, my tail, etc… I’m not sure if she got a single picture of my cute little face. MOUSES! What can you do with a peep, huh?

You realize of course, that this nip use will come back to bite you in the buns in the next election? Although you could plead that it was forced on you, and you even had to lick your nether regions to get the taste out of your mouth.

Oh, yeah. None of the feline members of our family have ever run for office, but photographing them can be highly entertaining. Loved the photo series – blooper reels are always a favorite in our house.

Hahaha, I totally understand. As a food blogger, most of the shots that ‘don’t make it’ include children’s hands, cat tongues trying to get at the whipped cream or the odd tail in the shot.
I’ll still pretend Stan is always picture perfect 😉

Tuxedo Stan is, and will always be, a bright and shiny star … I can’t wait until the new Mayor takes office and they get down to business. I know Stan will blog and keep them honest (or at least, let us know who is or isn’t honest).
He will be the community conscience. ♥

lolz – too funny n oh so true 😉 my guy is a black n white as well n I hv to replace my camera to get any pics of him – when I do I think he’ll b th wiser for th webcam – lol – I wish this old webcam would catch something worth posting – hahaha – can’t wait to get th new digicam 😀

Oh Stanley…you are adorable even when washing those parts. My cat(my owner) usually does it at mealtime when we have company.

All I can say is ,love it ,love it ,love it . Stan is such a character , you’re so lucky to have that sweet little boy ,he must such a blessing to wake up to in catopia every day . I enjoy all of your updates ,it make my days a little brighter as I fight my illlness ,which as it drags on gets harder and harder . Tell Stan I’m sending him such extra special hugs today .
